Preteen Ministry

We understand that the development of a preteen is different than the younger primary grades and yet not completely ready for the challenges of teen-hood.  Thus we have designed a ministry especially for this niche.  Our goal is to prepare kids for the spiritual and peer challenges of being a teenager.

What to Expect

Your preteen will be greeted by a volunteer who has been through an application process that includes recommendations, interviews, a criminal background check, and training on caring for preteen's.  Upon your first visit a brief database form should be filled out so your preteen can be placed on our check-in list.  During our opening time there are plenty of games to play. We have 3 video game consoles, air hockey, and foosball.  Everyone then takes a seat on and we go through our lesson for the week.   We use a combination of video, games, object lessons, and discussion to explore the scriptures and find relevancy to our own lives.  The Vertical V year is considered a pivotal year in developing the habits of a lifelong adventure with Christ.  We will encourage prayer, journaling, a devotion time, peer sharing, and community service.  The kids in Vertical V have the best resources, the most fun, and do the hardest work.  Our goal is to make it a positive life changing year.
